Museum del Oro, it’s golden.

Museum de Oro

Hands down, thumbs up, or whatever satisfaction you want to all it, Bogota’s Museum de Oro (Museum of Gold) is the best of the best as far as a Gold museum, and I’ve been to many.

Bogotá’s most famous museum is one of the most fascinating in South America, and contains more than 55,000 pieces of gold and other materials from all of Colombia’s major pre-Hispanic cultures.

Seriously it’s a one of a kind. A lot of information, but not to much, and really professionally done, it’s such a good balance of history, science and education. With a vast display of artifacts, that will leave you speechless, I was smitten. I’m not a big jewelry person, but walking out of there, I’m thinking a couple of gold teeth would look great on me, lol.

But don’t take my word for it, get yourself here to Bogota and see it for yourself. It’s totally worth seeing. You’ll find art gold pieces that you won’t find anywhere else in the world.
